Well, it’s official. Autumn is here!
Summer certainly flew by and while I occasionally wish we had just one more month to squeeze in all of the things I had hoped to do, I realized that I had a very eventful three months.

1. I worked full time @ Powell’s Supermarket in Carbonear. In the beginning I was in the Deli dept… gotta say those girls( Debbie Juanita, Marilyn, Judy and Paula work hard ,then I went to the Meat room …had a blast with the guys ( Jerry, Michael from Greeley's Reel, Chris) then somewhere along the way I ended up on Cash ( Kelly , Jeff, Christine, Michelle, Alexis, Mary , Rhonda and I’m sure I’m missing someone. Overall it was a great experience a great bunch to work for.

2.   Caught up with an old friend I haven’t seen in years. It has been a while since the two of us have had a coffee session together. What can I say …Life gets in the ways sometimes. When we did finally meet it was as if we had seen each other last week. It’s great that strong friendships can survive such gaps.   She’s the first friend I remember having as a kid … yup it’s been that long and we  look so young..lol!

4    Had some pretty awesome BBQ’s (Thanks Hubby!)

How was your summer? I hope it was full of excitement!

Even though we still have some days that still felt like summer, I’ve happily welcomed the season with the changing leaves. The afternoons are warm and the evenings are cool, things begin to turn different shades of red and gold all around you and the light is just perfect. Like summer, I have a large list of things I want to do in the next month or so.
My list includes:

• take lots of fall photos

• start carrying tissues

• start drinking tea to stay warm ( Earl grey is my favorite but I’d like to try Lipton’s Island Mango & peach)

• get and massage & take a nap

• Going on a hayride.

• Celebrate Halloween.

Keep your eyes on the horizon, everything is about to change. It’s going to be a great season! I can tell. What are some things you’re hoping to do this autumn?

Break out the Whips & Chains- Cuz I Still got Christmas shopping to do

Well school (College) has kept me super busy.  I'm not really sure where the time went. The only thing I remember of the last three months is assignments, tests, and books, books, books. Its now 4 days til Christmas and I have alot of shopping to do.But as busy as school was We did manage to put a float in the local (Carbonear)  Santa Clause Parade 2010. Here are a few pics of the event.

So anyway here I am going to school studying my ass off, hubby is working, the kids are working and going to school and there is no christmas shopping done. I mean nothing!... no even a bloody Christmas card. The malls are going to be packed to the brim with other idiots like me and your gonna need a whip and chains just to break through the crowd. Well wish me Luck and if i make it back I'll post again soon....

College Life

College of  the North Atlantic Carbonear Campus
I started my first year of college last week.  I will be attending the local college here in Carbonear. I guess my first semester is going to be a lot of adjusting, meeting people and settling in. I am taking Community Studies (2yrs)  with my focus being on the Women's Issues portion of the Program.I think my biggest challenge will be getting into a routine of studying after being out of the school curriculum  for 21 years( something I didn't do much of in High school) . I have made so many new friends ~! There are 32 in our class I'm sure after the 2 yrs are up I will get to know each one more. The Sociology and Psychology courses so far seem to be very interesting and intimidating . I don't know whether to be excited or terrrified.I truly wasn't sure about going back to school. It seemed the God of Divine Intervention was stepping in wherever he could. I was a week behind the Registration deadline for applications (never had the money) Then my acceptance letter did not arrive when I knew others were out.Apparently I did not send in my ROC (thought it was to be passed in September...wrong!) Ok now its time to see a  counceller  to finalize my application (which goes to HRLE) for funding... she gone on holidays. After a little bit of panic her friendly staff help me out... So my application goes to HRLE... they have looked over my application and have decided to fund me but I have to pay x amount of dollars... now I knew I had to make a contribution but the quoted price ended up being abit more than I expected but here's the kicker I had one day to decided if I would accept the offer or not because you guessed it she was going on holidays. Every where  I turned it seemed the God of Divine Intervention was saying... "don't do this". But as my career counceller pointed out  " If you want something bad enough..fight for it" As you can guess I did accept the proposal and so far I am enjoying college life but that may change after my first exam. Lol!

Driving Me Crazy

Berk's HighSchool Grad 2008
I have two sons. The oldest Boy #1 is 20 and Boy #2 is 17.Knock on wood I haven't had any major trouble with either one. But now comes the test of my parenting skills... definitely not my driving skills ( anyone who knows me knows I'm a nervous driver since the accident). That's another story and back to this one. Both boys are going for their License 's soon ( August 24 & 25 ) ... Boy#1 on his motorcycle ( class 6) and Boy #2 on the car ( class 5). Bring on the Prozac.  When Boy #1 got his License I was so non -chalant about it. Boy how things change ! Maybe its because I turned 40 but I'm more nervous now then I ever was. Scares the BeJeezus outta me just thinking about Boy #1 riding around on his Bike..and Boy #2 driving a car.... I just wanna bury my head under the covers...Don't get me wrong they are both good drivers Thanks to their Dad . But I spend a lot of time worrying about things I have no control over  right now.  But with their new Independence comes more Freedom for me. With the kids all but out of the house I have more time to do things I enjoy like playing Scrabble ( I'm totally addicted) or get more computer time so I can write blogs and the ever dreaded housework.
