Whats in my purse! December 2010

My Purse Collection
I have  an addiction to a love of purses. I currently have about 15 or 16 and believe me I'd have more If I had the room to keep them, the money to buy them and the means to keep them full...lol! The purse is a common object, carried over the arms and on the shoulders of millions of women of various ages and cultures around the world. At the same time, there is a sense of mystique attached to each individual purse - aside from carrying identification, keys and money, what's in that purse? What are people carrying in their purses and what do those contents reveal about us and about our times?

Whats in my purse!!!

Lets see I have 3 wallets( 1. debit card, & change 2.medical cards & info 3.holds notebooks & misc.), 3 perfume bottles trial size, mirror, 1 hand cream & a moisturizer, allergy pills,, purple polish, top coat,1 lemon teabag, reciept,1 hard candy, 1 life saver, fashion jewelry ring, keys, watch,make-up bag, eye glass case, nail file, just relaxin' brochure, ticket stub, scratch tickets, sticky notes, roller pen, 4 paper clips, and a deodorant. So what does my purse say about me..... I carry alot of junk...

my makeup bag

My make-up bag doesn't have a whole lot in it and  for that matter it isn't very big. I have 4 eye shadows ( the gray is my fave), a nail file, liquid foundation, lipgloss, 3 lipsticks, an alcohol swab, nail clippers , a safety pin and brushes and applicators... pretty pathetic really....
So whats in your purse? leave me a note and we''ll compare purses...

Break out the Whips & Chains- Cuz I Still got Christmas shopping to do

Well school (College) has kept me super busy.  I'm not really sure where the time went. The only thing I remember of the last three months is assignments, tests, and books, books, books. Its now 4 days til Christmas and I have alot of shopping to do.But as busy as school was We did manage to put a float in the local (Carbonear)  Santa Clause Parade 2010. Here are a few pics of the event.

So anyway here I am going to school studying my ass off, hubby is working, the kids are working and going to school and there is no christmas shopping done. I mean nothing!... no even a bloody Christmas card. The malls are going to be packed to the brim with other idiots like me and your gonna need a whip and chains just to break through the crowd. Well wish me Luck and if i make it back I'll post again soon....

Holy Purple Monkey Balls ~ What was I thinking!!!!

Yeah I Know I've been lax  posting here.... But I did a dip shit thing... Got my ass back to school. Yeah I graduated high school even went to college 20+ years ago but never really put my mind to it and became a stay at home Mom. A job I loved as I got two great kids out of it. Not really sure how me & hubby did that as we never had a clue to what we were doing. Just took one day at  a time and thanked God each night that they survived another day with us as parents. But I digress my blog is about my return to school and Holy Purple Monkey Balls is it hard. I am taking the Community Studies Program. The job options vary from RCMP officer (police) to a counsellor at a women's shelter and all points in between. But I tell ya doing courses like Psychology, Sociology ,Community Development , and Human Relations just to name a few make my head hurt. Not to mention the time factor which seems to be at warp speed like something out of a Star Trek episode or something.Don't get me wrong... I enjoy school and I have lots of new friends and its an awesome experience but HPMB I was not prepared for the extra work , the information overload and damn I'm so tired. Like I can't even bawl  at my 17 year old for coming home and going back to bed cuz' I'm doing the same thing. I got to have a nap everyday when I get home... anywhere from a 15 min power nap to a big dirty 1 hour nap.I guess school is exhausting ...it sure ain't cuz I'm 40..lol!!! Well thats my Blog and hopefully I will post again soon!

Divine Intervention

The Wiktionary defines Divine Intervention as Direct and obvious intervention by a god in the affairs of humans.
Wikipedia states it is a term for a miracle caused by God's/a god's active involvement in the human world.

College Life

College of  the North Atlantic Carbonear Campus
I started my first year of college last week.  I will be attending the local college here in Carbonear. I guess my first semester is going to be a lot of adjusting, meeting people and settling in. I am taking Community Studies (2yrs)  with my focus being on the Women's Issues portion of the Program.I think my biggest challenge will be getting into a routine of studying after being out of the school curriculum  for 21 years( something I didn't do much of in High school) . I have made so many new friends ~! There are 32 in our class I'm sure after the 2 yrs are up I will get to know each one more. The Sociology and Psychology courses so far seem to be very interesting and intimidating . I don't know whether to be excited or terrrified.I truly wasn't sure about going back to school. It seemed the God of Divine Intervention was stepping in wherever he could. I was a week behind the Registration deadline for applications (never had the money) Then my acceptance letter did not arrive when I knew others were out.Apparently I did not send in my ROC (thought it was to be passed in September...wrong!) Ok now its time to see a  counceller  to finalize my application (which goes to HRLE) for funding... she gone on holidays. After a little bit of panic her friendly staff help me out... So my application goes to HRLE... they have looked over my application and have decided to fund me but I have to pay x amount of dollars... now I knew I had to make a contribution but the quoted price ended up being abit more than I expected but here's the kicker I had one day to decided if I would accept the offer or not because you guessed it she was going on holidays. Every where  I turned it seemed the God of Divine Intervention was saying... "don't do this". But as my career counceller pointed out  " If you want something bad enough..fight for it" As you can guess I did accept the proposal and so far I am enjoying college life but that may change after my first exam. Lol!

Pepsi Cola Chicken

Difficulty: Easy

Instructions.Things You'll Need:

4 Chicken Breasts (or other as you choose)

1 cup Ketchup

1 cup Pepsi

Pam or Cooking Oil

Salt, Pepper (or garlic)

Baking Dish

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray some Pam or use cooking oil to coat a pan approximately 9x9.
Place the chicken in the pan leaving enough room inbetween so the sauce can run between the chicken.
Salt and Pepper to taste, I like garlic salt, keeps the vampires away.

In a separate bowl mix one cup of Pepsi and one cup of Ketchup. Mix thoroughly so the ketchup looks darker. Pour the mixture over the chicken.

Bake for 1 hour in the oven at 350 degrees. Out comes the best tasting chicken you will ever eat.

To show the love we're feeling

But can't find the words to say

Its funny how a little hug

Makes everyone feel good

In every place and language

It's always understood.

No batteries or extra parts

Just open up your arms

And open up your hearts

Anybody who knows me knows I'm not a gourmet cook... In fact if it wasn't for my hubby I think I'd starve.Even the kids (20 & 17) would rather cook thenmselves then have me do it. 1/2 cup Ketchup ( can use BBQ sauce)
few good dashes of worchetershire sauce

Prep: Mix all together. Put in a loaf pan . Baste with ketchup, bbq sauce or tomatoe soup .Bake 45 mins  to 1 hour at 350 degrees.

Driving Me Crazy

Berk's HighSchool Grad 2008
I have two sons. The oldest Boy #1 is 20 and Boy #2 is 17.Knock on wood I haven't had any major trouble with either one. But now comes the test of my parenting skills... definitely not my driving skills ( anyone who knows me knows I'm a nervous driver since the accident). That's another story and back to this one. Both boys are going for their License 's soon ( August 24 & 25 ) ... Boy#1 on his motorcycle ( class 6) and Boy #2 on the car ( class 5). Bring on the Prozac.  When Boy #1 got his License I was so non -chalant about it. Boy how things change ! Maybe its because I turned 40 but I'm more nervous now then I ever was. Scares the BeJeezus outta me just thinking about Boy #1 riding around on his Bike..and Boy #2 driving a car.... I just wanna bury my head under the covers...Don't get me wrong they are both good drivers Thanks to their Dad . But I spend a lot of time worrying about things I have no control over  right now.  But with their new Independence comes more Freedom for me. With the kids all but out of the house I have more time to do things I enjoy like playing Scrabble ( I'm totally addicted) or get more computer time so I can write blogs and the ever dreaded housework.
